What You Need to Get Started
Remote Control Parking requires the available Parking Assistant Professional package and BMW Digital Key Plus active on your compatible smartphone. Once those are in place, the My BMW App® becomes the controller for the entire maneuver. No key fob is required, and there is no need to remain behind the wheel.
How the System Works
Press the Parking Assistant button in the center console to enter parking view, then drive slowly past your intended space as the ultrasonic sensors and cameras in the 2026 BMW X5 sweep continuously, measuring length, width, and clearance. Once the vehicle has completely passed a suitable space, the system recognizes it and presents it on the control display. Select your preferred maneuver on the control display or through the My BMW App®, then exit the vehicle.
Outside, press and hold the blue button in the My BMW App® to execute the maneuver, and the 2026 BMW X5 handles steering, braking, acceleration, and gear shifts autonomously. Release the button at any moment to pause, then press and hold again to resume. The app notifies you when the vehicle has reached its final parking position, and the system can retrieve the car from the space the same way.
